This morning I am led to the first chapter of Genesis where the Bible says that "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters." Gen. 1:1,2 (niv)
As I was reading this I found myself wondering if we as Christians feel formless and empty from time to time. I will admit that this is the case with me sometimes. But as you go on to read the scriptures in Genesis you find that as God was creating things, everything that He created He saw was Good. Everything! Therefore, I don't have to feel formless and empty because I know that I am made in His image and in His likeness (Gen. 1:26).
The Lord put it in my spirit this morning that just like He was hovering over the waters, He hovers over you and I today, yesterday, and always. We have the assurance that no matter the circumstances or no matter where geographically we are He is with us. We need to learn how to sense His Spirit hovering about us, walking with us, talking with us, shaping us and forming us to be what He wants us to be. I'm thankful today that I know that I am the temple of the Holy Ghost and that with Him living in me and guiding me through the cares of life that I don't have a reason to feel formless and empty. I am God's creation and He sees that I am good.
It is my prayer today that we let God form us and make us what He wants us to be and that our posture and prespective is God breathed!
